Women’s basketball in South Carolina is flourishing more than ever right now ranging from young athletes all the way up to the college level. Over the years, South Carolina has slowly but surely made its way to the spotlight when it comes to basketball. University of South Carolina alum and former WNBA pro, Coach Shaunzinski Gortman is an example of what this state has to offer.
This organization, Infinite Dreams, has a huge sentimental factor to it. Coach Gortman has returned to her home state with intentions of giving back to the area and showcasing the young local talent. The vision is to focus on developing young women, provide better opportunities, provide positive leadership, promote health/wellness, and fulfill academic excellence. Coach Gortman is big on academics. Although she wants to help these players fulfill their dreams of playing college ball, she also wants them to visualize a future beyond basketball.
Infinite Dreams will be looking to make a lasting impact on the Insider Exposure league. This organization is loaded with talent across the board. They’re going to show up with the same mindset, compete against any and everyone, and represent I Dreams to the fullest extent.
Shania Davis (PG, 5’4, 2021) is one of the most committed players in the organization. She started in the fifth grade and developed into a rising star for the years to come. Covid has made things tough for Davis. Her high school cancelled their season after three games. Infinite Dreams took last year off due to the pandemic as well. Although high school and travel ball didn’t end the way she imagined, Davis is still a promising athlete and just needs a shot. She’s a vet in this program and plays with that same mindset. She has all the traits coaches look for in players. Floor general with all the leadership qualities, three level scorer, controls the tempo of the game, etc.
Tahalia Collier (SG, 5’6, 2021) is the ultimate perseverance player. This athlete was in a really bad car accident that led to having a ton of injuries. She had a broken hip, currently has plates/screws in her legs, and nearly lost her life. What makes her special is if you see her play, you would’ve never known she went through any of this. She came back as if nothing happened and didn’t miss a beat. It really defines her as a player. She has the drive to do whatever she wants to do in life. Basketball was her first love and she didn’t want to walk away from the game like that.
Jailyn Oree (F, 5’9, 2022) is the x-factor type of player for I Dreams. She’s a tweener with a solid frame. Don’t let the size fool you, she’s a brick wall type of player. She plays big, very active rebounder and shotblocker. She’s aggressive on both sides of the ball and uses her body as an advantage. Also, Oree is the ultimate team player.
Tayah Anderson (F, 5’10, 2023) has a mindset and drive like no other. Her work ethic is through the roof and she wants to do whatever it takes to get to the next level. Anderson is a gym rat, constantly working on her game. She is the prime leader for this organization. Coach Gortman claimed, “Tayah is the one player you can’t replace “. Naturally the team gravitates to her and she acts as the coach on the floor.
Lucille Bailey (PG, 5’3, 2024) is an offensive threat. Very skilled point guard who can do it all. From beyond the arch, she can shoot consistently with a high level of confidence. Bailey can also slash and get to the basket at will. Not afraid of contact. When bringing the ball up the floor, she has the ability to set the tone and tempo of the game. She sees the floor very well and creates scoring opportunities for everyone around her.
Antoinet Cheeseboro (G, 5’4, 2024) is a knockdown shooter. She has the best of both worlds. She’s crafty with the ball in her hands and knows how to create her own shot. She also knows how to move without the ball and get open. Cheeseboro is young and fearless! There is no intimidation factor when she plays. She’ll battle with anyone for an entire four quarters. Defensively, she has the speed and tenacity to shut down the craftiest of ball handlers.
Gabrielle Hollister (G, 5’1, 2024) is what they call “the pest”. At only 5 foot 1 inches, she wrecks havoc on the floor. She may not be the tallest player on the floor but her height is definitely an advantage. Extremely fast on defense with active hands. She creates her own points off of turnovers. She’s a natural playmaker on the floor and is the definition over “heart over height”.
Zania Garvin (F, 5’11, 2024) is developing into a multi dimensional athlete. Garvin has a super high ceiling. She started last year and the progress she’s made has been monumental. This athlete went from not being able to score to transforming into a post nightmare. She’s very committed to her craft and never misses practice. Very athletic, high motor, and has a good mid range pull up. She’s currently learning more guard work, working to be a more complete player.
Jordyn Adams (CG, 5’3, 2025) approaches the game just like her teammate Hollister. Another heart of over height player. Adams is small but fearless. Very competitive athlete that knows how ti get the job done. She does everything at 100%, aggressive offensively and defensively. This athlete is always trying to get after it. There is a bright future for this one, she’s been playing varsity since the 7th grade. Speaks volume to her game.

This organization prides themselves on that formula. They understand that they control their own destiny. No one else can affect or copy what they do. I DREAMS will be looking to represent their organization in the best way possible this summer. Welcome to the Insider Exposure League!
